Overview

OTADVR ("the app") is developed by Arctic Surf Designs. This Privacy Policy describes how the app handles information. The short version: OTADVR collects no personal data and sends nothing to any server.

Data Collected

OTADVR does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information. The app operates entirely on your local network and your Mac.

What the App Stores Locally

The following data is stored only on your Mac, never transmitted anywhere:

• Your scanned channel list and signal strength readings
• TV guide (EPG) data fetched from over-the-air PSIP broadcasts
• Recording files saved to your chosen folder
• App preferences (scan settings, favourites, tuner configuration)
• DX history log of received channels
• OTA Map location (saved locally for convenience, never transmitted)

Network Access

The app communicates only with:

• Your HDHomeRun device on your local network — to scan channels, stream live TV, and read signal status
• FCC facility records — only when you explicitly tap the "FCC" button in OTA Map, which opens the FCC website in your browser
• Your antenna's PSIP broadcast — guide data is received over the air, not from the internet

No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, no tracking of any kind.

Location

If you allow location access, your coordinates are used only within the OTA Map feature to calculate bearing and distance to nearby transmitters. Your location is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Recordings

Recordings are saved as MPEG-2 Transport Stream (.ts) files to a folder on your Mac. The app does not upload, share, or access these files for any purpose other than local playback.

Children

OTADVR does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
