OTAMap Live TV Privacy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

The short version

OTAMap Live TV collects no personal data and sends nothing to any server. Everything happens on your device.

What the app does on your device

OTAMap Live TV talks to HDHomeRun network tuners on your local Wi-Fi to show live TV, and uses your location to compute distance and bearing from where you are to nearby TV transmitters.

Both of those happen entirely on your iPhone or iPad. No data leaves the device.

Permissions the app requests

What the app does NOT do

The OTAMap Antenna Pointing Utilities data

The bundled transmitter database (7,800+ towers) is sourced from publicly published FCC and ISED licence records. It ships with the app — you don't download it, and we don't query a server when you use it.

If we ever change this

If a future version of OTAMap Live TV ever collects, stores, or transmits data, that change will be disclosed in the "What's New" notes of the App Store release, and this page will be updated before the change ships.
